MOSCOW – Russia revealed a list of 963 prominent Americans on Saturday, including US Vice President Joe Biden, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman, who have been barred from visiting the country in response for similar US actions since the Ukraine war. 

  

US government officials, congressmen, and other powerful persons are among those identified on the Russian foreign ministry's website. 

Many of individuals on the list had previously been sanctioned by Moscow, including Biden, his Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. 

  

Freeman, who had not been identified by Russian officials, is accused by Moscow of making a video in 2017 in which he said Russia was scheming against the United States. 

"The Russian counter-sanctions are essential and seek to force the US, which is attempting to impose a neocolonial 'global order' on the rest of the earth... to modify its position and recognise new geopolitical realities," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Saturday. 

  

It went on to say that Moscow was ready to "honest conversation" and made a contrast between US citizens and officials who were "inciting Russophobia." 

Hundreds of "Anglo-Saxons" have been barred from entering Russia since the offensive in Ukraine. 

  

It said on Saturday that it has also blacklisted 26 additional Canadians, including Sophie Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada's wife.
