Joining NATO would be a "terrible error," according to Russia.

Recep Tayyip Erdan, Turkey's president, has stated that Finland and Sweden will not be revealed to Nato. 

 As per Reuters, he has stated that Swedish and Finnish delegations should not visit Turkey in try to encourage Turkey to endorse their Nato subscription ambitious goals. 

 While both Nato members, Finland and Sweden have traditionally considered participation as an unneeded provocation of their powerful eastern Neighbour, Russia. The Russian invasion of Ukraine, on the other hand, has forced them to rethink their security policy. 

 All existing Nato members would have to agree to join the alliance. 

 Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952, and its participation is a cornerstone of its foreign policy toward the West.

  • Vladimir Putin stated that Russia has no issue with Finland or Sweden, but that the development of military facilities on their soil will need a counter from Moscow as the Nordic nations near Membership in the EU.

  • Recep Tayyip Erdan, Turkey's president, has stated that Finland and Sweden will not be admitted to Nato. He stated that Swedish and Finnish delegations should not visit Turkey in order to persuade Turkey to endorse their Nato membership ambitions.

  • McDonald's said on Monday that it will depart the Russian market and sell its operations in the increasingly isolated country. Meanwhile, the city of Moscow plans to take over a Renault plant and use it to resuscitate the Soviet-era Moskvich, marking Russia's first big nationalization of a foreign corporation since its conflict with Ukraine.

On Monday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan declared that Swedish and Finnish representatives should not bother travelling to Ankara to persuade the Turkish government to support their NATO request since they harbor terrorists. 

Erdogan announced at a news conference that Turkey will reject their NATO membership applications, describing Sweden as a "hatchery" for terrorist organizations and claiming that terrorists were present in the Swedish parliament. 

Ankara claims that Sweden and Finland are home to persons affiliated to terrorist organizations, including the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) armed group and supporters of Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara accuses of organizing the 2016 coup attempt.

Volodymyr Zalenski congratulated soldiers who established a new border post on Russia's border as Ukrainian forces continued to push Russian forces back from Kharkov, Ukraine's second largest city.  

However, Russia's withdrawal is a fighting retreat, with firing in the northern villages of Kharkov on Monday, with one person reported dead in Tsurkans, 17 miles from the city Centre, and four injured in the districts of Shevchenko's and Saliva.
